President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that Ukraine would not accept any peace deal made without its involvement, as European leaders reaffirmed their support and pledged increased military and economic aid to strengthen Kyiv’s position against Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted on Saturday that Ukraine would reject any peace agreements made without its direct involvement, indirectly addressing U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to negotiate an end to the war with Russia.
Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelenskyy urged Europe to establish its own military forces, emphasising the need for the continent to take control of its own future. He also highlighted the role of Ukraine’s armed forces in this vision.
Earlier, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Spain, the U.K., and the European Union issued a joint statement reaffirming that Ukraine must be included in any decisions about its future. They also committed to increasing military and economic aid to bolster Kyiv’s position.
