Russian attacks on Ukraine's southern ports killed at least five people, damaged foreign-flagged civilian vessels, and further disrupted Black Sea grain exports, while Ukraine launched drone strikes targeting Russian logistics and infrastructure.

A Russian drone attack on port infrastructure in the southern city of Mykolaiv damaged three foreign-flagged civilian vessels, regional prosecutors said. Two Ukrainians aboard one of the ships were killed, while a separate strike on Odesa claimed another life.

Later on Friday, a Russian strike hit a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel in an Odesa region port, sparking a fire and injuring four crew members. All 17 crew members were evacuated safely, according to Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces targeted Ukrainian port facilities in Odesa and Chornomorsk overnight.

Ukraine's Seaports Authority said Russian attacks on ports and civilian vessels in July have killed 11 people, including port workers and foreign crew members.

Black Sea campaign

Separately, a Russian missile strike on a residential building in Odesa late Thursday killed two people and injured several others. Residents described an unprecedented number of air raid alerts.

"Nothing like this has ever happened before. There are so many air alerts- so many. It's practically one air alert after another," Odesa resident Viktoriia told Reuters.

Ukraine also continued its campaign against Russian military logistics. Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi said Ukrainian forces struck 12 additional Russian vessels in the Black Sea on Friday.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces struck 24 Ukrainian military vessels over the past week.

Drone strikes in Russia

Ukrainian drone attacks killed seven people working at a warehouse south of Moscow and sparked a fire at an oil depot in the wider capital region, regional governors said on Saturday.

Governor Evgeniy Pervyshov said 25 people were injured after Ukrainian drones slammed into a warehouse owned by Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, in the city of Kotovsk in the Tambov region.

"28 UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) were shot down on approach. If they had achieved their goal, the number of civilian casualties could have been much higher," Pervyshov wrote on Telegram.

In a separate incident, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said falling drone debris caused a fire to break out at an oil depot in the city of Noginsk.
