A helicopter crash in Sri Lanka has resulted in six fatalities, according to military sources cited by AFP on Friday.
A Cessna CJ1+ aircraft (PR-GFS) crashed while landing at Gastão Madeira State Airport (UBT) in Ubatuba, Brazil, on 9 January 2025, amidst adverse weather. The crash, which claimed the pilot’s life and injured seven others, has raised concerns over private aviation safety in Brazil.

Departing from Mineiros, Goiás, the aircraft, carrying five people, overshot the runway and came to rest in the nearby Baía de Ubatuba.
The crash claimed the life of the pilot, injured four passengers, and harmed three individuals on the ground.
Rain and a wet runway are suspected factors, with the Centre for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA) conducting an inquiry. This follows a similar aviation accident in Brazil in December 2024, raising concerns about private aviation safety.
