Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Baghdad on Saturday evening for an official visit, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry confirmed.

Iraq’s presidency announced that Zardari will be formally received at Baghdad Palace on Sunday with an official ceremony, followed by bilateral talks with President Abdul Latif Rashid. Expanded discussions between delegations from both countries are also scheduled, the statement said.

The visit, which will run from 20 to 24 December, aims to further strengthen political, trade, and counterterrorism cooperation between Iraq and Pakistan. Diplomatic relations between the two countries have been ongoing, with both sides making recent efforts to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors.
