Diplomatic representatives from Armenia and Pakistan are actively working on plans to open a Pakistani embassy in Armenia, according to reports from Armenian media outlets.
In response to media inquiries, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that the two countries have agreed to exchange diplomatic representatives. This comes after the signing of a joint communiqué, which formalised the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan.
"By signing the joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan, the governments of both nations agreed to exchange representatives and offer each other the necessary support to set up diplomatic missions," the Armenian Foreign Ministry stated.
The ministry emphasised that the exchange of representatives would be carried out in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and international diplomatic norms. Further details regarding the progress of the embassy’s establishment will be shared with the public in due course.
This move signals a significant step forward in strengthening ties between Armenia and Pakistan, following years of informal relations. The establishment of a Pakistani embassy in Armenia would further solidify diplomatic, political, and economic collaboration between the two nations.
While the exact timeline for the embassy’s opening has not yet been confirmed, the agreement marks a milestone in enhancing cooperation between the two countries, highlighting their commitment to mutual recognition and international diplomacy.
