President-elect Trump slams U.S. leadership, border policies, and law enforcement after violent attacks, calling for action to restore safety and security.
On Thursday, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump criticized the nation's leadership and border policies in response to violent incidents that resulted in multiple casualties, including 15 fatalities in New Orleans.
"Our Country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World! This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective, and virtually nonexistent leadership," he posted on Truth Social.
Trump's remarks came after a wave of violent incidents nationwide, including a truck attack in New Orleans on Wednesday morning that left 15 dead and 35 injured. Additionally, an explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, claimed one life.
He criticized the Department of Justice, FBI, and Democratic prosecutors, accusing them of being "incompetent and corrupt" and prioritizing investigations into him over ensuring public safety.
"The USA is breaking down - A violent erosion of Safety, National Security, and Democracy is taking place all across our Nation," Trump wrote.
"See you on January 20th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
