Russian President Vladimir Putin met with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi at the Kremlin on Thursday, following the conclusion of the ‘World Atomic Week’ forum in Moscow.
During the meeting, Putin welcomed Grossi, highlighting Russia’s longstanding collaboration with the IAEA since its founding in 1957.
“Russia has been actively working with the agency, providing all possible assistance in addressing global and highly important nuclear tasks,” he said.
Grossi described his visit as a “great pleasure” and praised Russia’s role in advancing nuclear energy projects worldwide through Rosatom. He noted the participation of countries from Asia and Africa in the forum, emphasising the importance of IAEA oversight to ensure projects are successfully implemented.
The talks come amid growing international focus on nuclear energy development, with Russia positioning itself as a leading player in global nuclear initiatives.
