Syrian and Saudi officials held parallel meetings in Damascus and Riyadh on Sunday, signalling deeper cooperation across humanitarian, agricultural and investment sectors.

In Damascus, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani hosted a Saudi delegation led by Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah, head of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre. The two sides discussed relief and development projects spanning health, education, housing and food security. The delegation also took part in inaugurating new Saudi-backed initiatives in Syria, according to the Syrian Foreign Ministry.

At the same time in Riyadh, Syrian Agriculture Minister Amjad Badr met his Saudi counterpart Abdulrahman al-Fadli. The ministers agreed to establish a joint working group to explore Saudi investment in Syrian farming, water management and food production.

The meetings follow the first Syrian-Saudi investment forum held in Damascus in July, where 44 agreements worth $6 billion were signed.
