Two people were killed and six others wounded after gunfire broke out at an after-party linked to a weekend music festival in downtown Los Angeles.
Police said they were first called to the warehouse district around 11 p.m. on Sunday to disperse a large gathering. Officers had spotted someone who appeared to be armed entering the venue and arrested the individual at the scene.
The event had been promoted online as an unofficial after-party for Hard Summer, a major electronic music festival held earlier at Hollywood Park in Inglewood.
About two hours later, just after 1 a.m. on Monday, police received reports of a shooting at the same location. When officers returned, they found multiple people had been shot.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman died later at a hospital. Six others were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, though their conditions were not immediately known.
The motive remains unclear, and police have not released any details about a suspect. Investigators remained at the scene through the early morning.
