A landmark accord between Türkiye and Qatar on global humanitarian cooperation has officially taken effect, paving the way for joint relief operations in third countries.
The 'Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Humanitarian Assistance' between Türkiye and Qatar entered into force on Monday following its ratification by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and publication in Türkiye’s Official Gazette.
Originally signed in Ankara on 14 November 2024, the agreement establishes a framework for joint humanitarian operations, including financial and technical support, deployment of aid personnel, and the setup of field hospitals.
The two nations will collaborate on rebuilding critical infrastructure and delivering emergency assistance to crisis-affected countries.
The accord also emphasises long-term recovery efforts, positioning Türkiye and Qatar as strategic partners in international relief and reconstruction initiatives.
