A shooting spree in the U.S. state of Kentucky on Sunday left three people dead, including the gunman, and several others injured, according to state authorities.
The incident began shortly before noon, when a Kentucky State Police trooper was shot near Blue Grass Airport in Fayette County. The suspect fled the scene, allegedly carjacked a vehicle, and drove to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where he opened fire.
Two women, aged 72 and 32, were killed at the church. Two men were also shot—one remains in critical condition, the other stable. The suspect was shot dead by law enforcement at the scene.
The injured trooper is receiving medical care. Police said emergency teams responded rapidly to the church, and the area was secured shortly afterwards.
