George Russell delivered a commanding performance from pole position to win the Singapore Grand Prix for Mercedes on Sunday, finishing comfortably ahead of Red Bull’s world champion Max Verstappen.

Under the Marina Bay lights, the British driver crossed the line 5.4 seconds clear of Verstappen, securing his second victory of the season.

Lando Norris challenged Verstappen in the closing laps but ultimately settled for third, just ahead of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri. The strong double finish was enough to hand McLaren their second consecutive constructors’ championship.

In the drivers’ standings, Piastri’s advantage over Norris narrowed to 22 points, while Verstappen remains 63 points adrift of the Australian with six races left in the season.

Celebrations in the McLaren camp were somewhat subdued, however, as Piastri expressed frustration over Norris’s aggressive move past him at the opening corner.
