Thousands of demonstrators gathered across Spain's Canary Islands, urging authorities to address overtourism and its impact on local communities, including rising housing costs, congestion, and strained services.
Marching under the slogan "Canaries have a limit," demonstrators also highlighted concerns about the strain on water resources.

Similar protests have occurred in other Spanish tourist hubs like Mallorca and Barcelona. Canary Island officials are now seeking EU funds to address housing shortages in the region’s outermost areas.
