Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday voiced deep concern over the escalating tensions following the United States’ military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling on all sides to prioritize diplomacy over confrontation.
“We express our deep concern over the further escalation of the situation following the United States' military operations targeting nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the ministry said in a statement carried by APA.
Emphasizing the need to avoid a broader regional conflict, the ministry urged all involved parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid further escalation, and resolve differences through dialogue and diplomatic means.
The statement comes amid growing international alarm following overnight U.S. airstrikes that reportedly inflicted severe damage on three key Iranian nuclear sites. Iran has since called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
