The critical importance of the strong cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan at both regional and global levels has been highlighted and appreciated in Ankara.
Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler made the remarks during a reception at the Gazi Officers' Club, marking Azerbaijan Armed Forces Day.
At the event, Güler stressed that peace, stability, and prosperity are increasingly under threat. He said it's necessary to be strong in every domain particularly for countries with strategic importance, such as Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The minister stated, “In this critical period, it is essential for our countries to be strong in every field. The brotherhood and solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan are built on solid foundations.”
Güler also noted, “Azerbaijan’s strength is Türkiye’s strength, and Türkiye’s strength is Azerbaijan’s strength,” adding that this unity was once again proven during the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020. He said that Azerbaijan’s victory is a source of pride for the entire Turkic world.
Güler also pointed out that the victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War has opened a significant door for peace and stability in the Caucasus region, creating hope for a more secure and prosperous future.
The minister highlighted that close cooperation covers areas such as defence and security training, joint operations, and personnel exchange, and noted that this collaboration will continue under the principle of “Two states, one nation, one army.”
