President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Türkiye is resolutely moving toward the goal of completely eliminating the terror problem from the national agenda, marking a significant milestone on the "Terror-Free Türkiye" path.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed a press statement today in Ankara following the Cabinet meeting, announcing that Türkiye has reached an important phase on its path to a "terror-free" country. Erdogan emphasized that the decision for PKK to lay down their arms would open a new chapter for the country. "The terrorists have announced they will lay down their arms. We consider this decision significant. Once the terrorist organization is completely eradicated, a new page will be turned. A fatal blow will be struck to the plans of imperialists. The victorious ones will be Türkiye and the Turkish people," Erdogan stated.
President Erdogan also confirmed that Turkish state agencies, including intelligence services, would closely monitor the progress of this process.
On international matters, Erdogan touched upon the situation in Ukraine, recalling phone conversations with French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We recently spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. We support the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at resolving the conflict diplomatically," Erdogan noted.
Additionally, Erdogan shared his thoughts on the recent tensions between Pakistan and India in South Asia. He expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire agreement between Islamabad and New Delhi and reaffirmed Türkiye’s clear support for Pakistan during these challenging times.
During the Cabinet meeting, a bouquet of 102 flowers arranged in the shape of the Turkish flag was placed in the hall. This initiative was proposed by the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahceli. Bahceli presented the bouquet as a symbol of Türkiye's progress toward its "terror-free" goal, stating that the bloody chapter of 47 years of terrorism in the country must be closed.
