Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyau is trying out of “utter desperation” to disrupt the current indirect nuclear negotiations process between Iran and the United States.
At the time Tehran and Washington are set to resume a new round of nuclear talks, Araghchi wrote on his X account, Israel and “certain special interest groups are attempting to derail diplomacy”.
His message was a reaction to a FOX News report on an alleged secret nuclear facility in Semnan, north-central Iran, which citing satellite imagery provided by the People's Mojahedin of Iran Organization (MKO), claimed it was a suspected nuclear site.
After the 1979 Islamic Revolution which toppled pro-west shah monarchy, Iran banned the MKO which was an anti-shah organization. MKO took side with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hossein during his 1980-88 war on Iran.
With Netanyahu’s “credibility in tatters and exposed as a saboteur” and under his policy of “determining what the US president can do and cannot do policy”, Araghchi added, he is using MKO in “utter desperation”.
