Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, speaking at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, highlighted the significance of the existing economic cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that this collaboration has achieved remarkable successes, particularly in recent years.
Mirzoyan stated that the volume of bilateral trade turnover in 2024 has surpassed the figures of the past five years, marking an important milestone.
He also mentioned that discussions were ongoing about the possibility of increasing the trade turnover between the two countries to $3 billion. In this context, Mirzoyan emphasized that the signing of a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran has further facilitated opportunities for bilateral trade.
Additionally, Mirzoyan pointed out that Iran is involved not only in Armenia's economic projects but also in strategic and infrastructure programs. He stressed that Iran was one of the first countries to welcome Armenia's "Peace Intersection" project and is practically involved in its implementation.
