On March 12, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Ismail Serageldin, co-chairs of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, along with former heads of state, government, and Board of Trustees members.
Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Ismail Serageldin emphasized the Center’s global promotion of humanism, inspired by the principles and philosophy of Nizami Ganjavi.
President Ilham Aliyev said that the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, grounded in the philosophy of the great Azerbaijani poet, is highly regarded globally. He highlighted the Center's active role in addressing key international issues and contributing to solutions.
The President also stressed the importance of the 12th Global Baku Forum, focusing on shaping the new world order.
Ismail Serageldin announced that around 400 influential political figures from across the globe would attend the forum. He highlighted discussions on key global issues, including multilateral diplomacy, a multipolar world, the UN’s Pact for the Future, the new world order, the role of middle powers, post-conflict reconstruction, and more.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan will host the UN World Urban Forum in 2026, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Azerbaijan, the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, and UN institutions.
