Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, gave an exclusive briefing to Leyla Rahimli, AnewZ TV’s correspondent stationed in Kilis.

The minister stated that very soon, all energy and logistics resources will be delivered to Türkiye via the Zangazur corridor.

Bayraktar noted that currently, Azerbaijan’s electricity is transmitted to Türkiye through Georgia, and energy resources from Central Asia will also be transported through Azerbaijan to Türkiye, and from there to Europe.

The minister emphasised that energy projects carried out jointly with Azerbaijan continue successfully, highlighting the Nakhchivan–Türkiye electricity interconnector as one of the key initiatives.

During the inauguration ceremony of the Türkiye-Syria gas pipeline, it was announced that preparations for the annual transit of 1.2 billion cubic metres of gas between SOCAR and Syria have been completed. The gas will pass through Kilis city, reaching electricity stations in Aleppo and Homs, where it will be used for power generation.

Bayraktar underlined that the primary goal of the project is to stabilise electricity supply in Syria. He added that approximately five million households will benefit from this electricity provision.
