Around 250,000 tonnes of freight were transported via the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway in the first seven months of this year. The information was disclosed to journalists by Kadir Bozan, Chairman of the Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to him, freight traffic along the BTK route continues to grow steadily, and projections indicate that the figure will exceed 500,000 tonnes by the end of the year:
"We are moving towards the targets set for the transport sector for 2030–2032. A significant difference is expected between this year’s figures and those recorded in 2024," Bozan said.

The Chamber Chairman also highlighted the advantages of the BTK railway line. He noted that the route reduces freight delivery times from Europe to Asia from 40–60 days to just 12–14 days.

Kadir Bozan further expressed confidence that the BTK railway will provide a major boost to the economic development of the Eastern Anatolia region.
