Operativ Məlumat Mərkəzi (operativmm.az) has published news in Azerbaijani, Russian and English since 2020; Wikipedia cites it, and it runs 40+ public data services.
Operativ Məlumat Mərkəzi, a Baku news outlet better known by its domain operativmm.az, has reported on Azerbaijan and the world since 2020. It publishes in Azerbaijani, Russian and English and is owned by “Breaking Media Group” LLC.
The newsroom covers politics, economy, society, sport and world news. In the 30 days to 20 August it published about 4,700 stories, around 160 a day, according to the outlet's own figures. Its online archive, which begins in January 2023, holds some 79,000 stories. About 17,000 have been published in English and 18,000 in Russian.
The outlet's editorial policy sets out its rules on sources, corrections and complaints. Official statements are the primary source and agency material is credited. Anonymous sources are used only with an editor's approval. A factual error is corrected with a dated “Correction” note, and a story whose main claim proves false is withdrawn. The policy also says how artificial intelligence is used: it translates stories into Russian and English and suggests headlines, and editors review the results. The Azerbaijani original remains the reference version.
Other publishers cite the outlet's reporting. Thirteen Wikipedia articles in English, Azerbaijani and Russian list operativmm.az as a source, among them the English articles on the 2026 Iran war and the 2026 Strait of Hormuz crisis. Research and monitoring sites abroad also link to its stories.
Besides news, the outlet runs more than 40 public-information services, each built on an official source. They include the full list of 2,908 servicemen killed in the 2020 Patriotic War and 6 listed as missing, taken from the Ministry of Defence. There are also earthquake reports from the Republican Seismic Survey Center, prayer times from the Caucasus Muslims Board's calendar, and medicine price caps from the Tariff Council. Others cover pension payment days, changes to laws on e-qanun.az, and planned power, gas and water cuts. In the same 30 days, more than 50,000 users opened these services.
