The European Commission has unveiled a €120 million humanitarian aid package for Gaza, bringing total EU assistance since 2023 to over €450 million. The package will support food, healthcare, sanitation, shelter, and protection, with swift delivery in collaboration with UN and humanitarian partners.
In response to the ongoing crisis and as part of its continued support for Palestinians, the European Commission has announced a new €120 million humanitarian aid package for Gaza. This is part of the EU's long-standing commitment to assisting those in need in the region, according to a statement from the Commission.
With this new funding, the EU’s total humanitarian aid to Gaza since 2023 exceeds €450 million, in addition to the over 3,800 tonnes of aid delivered through the EU Air Bridge Flights.
The new aid package will focus on:
Food assistance to address food insecurity and malnutrition
Healthcare support to maintain healthcare facilities and provide medical supplies
Water, sanitation, and hygiene aid to ensure access to clean water and sanitation services
Shelter assistance to offer safe accommodation for displaced individuals
Protection support to safeguard the dignity and safety of vulnerable populations
The EU will collaborate with UN agencies and other humanitarian partners to ensure the rapid and effective delivery of aid. It remains committed to working with local partners to ensure aid reaches those in need as quickly as possible.
