The Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted the screening of a documentary by AnewZ dedicated to the Belt and Road Initiative and the rising importance of the Middle Corridor in the global economy.
The event according to Report, gathered representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, members of parliament, university staff, and students.
Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei emphasised that the Belt and Road Initiative has become a symbol of mutual development and openness.
“Developing infrastructure links is the foundation of the Belt and Road Initiative,” she said.
"We will continue to work with our partners to strengthen ties through the China-Europe Railway Express, as well as to open new logistics routes across the Eurasian continents and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. All of this is aimed at creating a multidimensional network of interaction in our region."
The film’s author, TV journalist Anastasia Lavrina, spoke about the creative process behind the project, sharing her experiences filming in four cities, including Xi’an — the historical starting point of the Silk Road and the gateway to the modern Middle Corridor.
“Our film highlights China’s strategic role in the global economy and underscores Azerbaijan’s position as a vital transport and energy hub linking East and West,” she noted.
