Armenia is preparing for high-level talks with the United States on the proposed “Trump Route” project, with discussions expected to start in September alongside Azerbaijan.
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan said talks with the U. S. are planned in the near future, with the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project among the topics on the agenda.
She added that further details on the visit of U.S. officials to Yerevan and the scope of discussions will be made public later.
The specifics of the TRIPP remain vague. While President Donald Trump has spoken of American involvement for 99 years, both Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the foreign minister have stressed that no such agreement exists.
In his latest briefing, Pashinyan confirmed that discussions on the Washington agreements will begin in September with both U.S. and Azerbaijani representatives.
