President Ilham Aliyev met CNCEC Chairman Mo Dingqi in Tianjin to discuss petrochemical cooperation and joint projects with SOCAR. He also held talks with Powerchina’s Executive Vice President Xi Yinfen on green energy and infrastructure collaboration.
On 2 September, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in the Chinese city of Tianjin with Mo Dingqi, Chairman of “China National Chemical Engineering” (CNCEC).
According to Azertag, the discussions focused on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the company in the fields of the petrochemical industry, oil refining, and the production of petrochemical products. The CNCEC Chairman noted that Azerbaijan offered a favourable investment climate.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a Framework Agreement between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven Ltd was exchanged in the presence of President Aliyev and the CNCEC Chairman. The document envisages the implementation of joint projects both in Azerbaijan and in third countries.
On the same day, President Aliyev also met with Xi Yinfen, Executive Vice President of “Powerchina Group”. The meeting underlined the company’s successful operations in Azerbaijan.
The two sides discussed cooperation in green energy, environmental protection, water resource management, wastewater treatment, power generation, green hydrogen projects, construction, and equipment manufacturing. They also exchanged views on prospects for collaboration in the construction of solar and wind power plants, the integration of “smart energy systems”, and the training of local specialists.
Later that day, President Aliyev, accompanied by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, travelled to Beijing by train. According to Azertag, they will participate in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people’s resistance against Japanese occupation and the Victory in the Second World War.
