The Kremlin said on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a phone call, during which Pashinyan updated Putin on his recent talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump hosted Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House on Friday, where the three leaders signed a joint declaration expressing their commitment to work towards a final peace deal, aiming to end over 30 years of intermittent conflict.
According to the Kremlin, Putin welcomed the significance of this development and, in turn, informed Pashinyan about his own meeting with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, as well as Russia’s preparations for his upcoming summit with Trump in Alaska on Friday.
