President Donald Trump said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will join him at the White House on Friday for what he called a “Historic Peace Summit,” aimed at formally ending years of conflict.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump said, “These two Nations have been at War for many years, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. Many leaders have tried to end the War, with no success, until now, thanks to ‘TRUMP’.”

He confirmed that the meeting would include an official peace signing ceremony, and also revealed that the United States will sign separate bilateral agreements with both Armenia and Azerbaijan to promote joint economic initiatives in the region.

“The United States will also sign Bilateral Agreements with both Countries to pursue Economic opportunities together, so we can fully unlock the potential of the South Caucasus Region,” Trump wrote.

He praised both Aliyev and Pashinyan for their leadership and willingness to move forward, calling them “courageous” for putting the interests of their people first.

“It will be a Historic Day for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the United States, and, THE WORLD,” he said.

The summit is expected to mark a turning point in efforts to bring long-term stability and cooperation to the South Caucasus.
