Iran has announced that expert-level technical talks with the United States will take place on April 26. According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, the decision follows a suggestion by Oman and was reached through mutual agreement between the Iranian and U.S. delegations.
Baqaei added that the meeting will be held concurrently with the next round of indirect talks between the heads of the two delegations.
Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned the latest U.S. sanctions targeting its oil network, describing the move as a sign of Washington's "hostile approach" ahead of a third round of nuclear talks.
In an official statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei criticized the U.S. policy of imposing sanctions on the Iranian people, calling it "a clear contradiction with the United States’ call for dialogue and negotiation," and "its goodwill and seriousness in this regard."
The statement came a day after the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on an Iranian shipping network and an individual, Asadoollah Emamjomeh, identified by Washington as the owner of the network.
