Iran has accused the United States of breaching a ceasefire after an alleged attack on an Iranian commercial ship in the Gulf of Oman.

State media, citing Khatam al-Anbiya, said the vessel was travelling from China to Iran when it came under fire.

“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon respond,” a spokesperson said, calling the incident “armed piracy.”
