Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has appointed Ali Akbar Ahmadian, former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), as his special representative and head of the Headquarters for the Advancement of National and Strategic Projects.
In a decree issued Wednesday, President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the newly established Headquarters for the Advancement of National and Strategic Projects is tasked with promoting unity between the government and the public.
The body is also expected to remove barriers to meaningful citizen participation, with a particular focus on engaging Iranians living abroad, in country's life as well as attracting both domestic and international investors.
The headquarters will work to mobilize national capabilities, especially among the country’s intellectuals and elite communities, in pursuit of key strategic objectives.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, who had served as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) since May 2023, has been appointed to lead the new headquarters and will serve as the president’s special representative.
