Kazakhstan launches Central Asia’s most powerful supercomputer, signaling a bold step in its digital transformation and AI ambitions.

During the Astana International Forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the arrival of Central Asia’s first supercomputer cluster, boasting a performance of about 2 exaflops. Built on cutting-edge NVIDIA H200 graphics chips designed for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, the supercomputer will be housed in a new Tier III data center to ensure stable, uninterrupted operation.

This milestone aligns with Kazakhstan’s broader vision to become a Eurasian IT hub, investing heavily in digital technology, AI, and human capital development. The initiative supports the country's Artificial Intelligence Development Concept through 2029 and aims to reduce regional disparities while boosting innovation, clean energy, and high-value manufacturing sectors.
