Georgian Prime Minister announced reshuffles in its cabinet
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced reshuffles in Georgia’s economic leadership, unveiling new appointments.
The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze held a talks in Ashgabat on Friday.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Georgia as a friend and reliable partner of Turkmenistan. He expressed confidence that Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit would strengthen bilateral ties and bring new opportunities for cooperation.
Trade and economic collaboration remain key priorities in the interstate dialogue, with notable progress in energy, industry, and healthcare.
A key area of bilateral partnership is transport and logistics. In this regard, Turkmenistan is willing to develop projects such as the Black Sea-Caspian Sea transport route, Lapis Lazuli, and "Green Ports," - Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in statement.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also advocated for strengthening cultural and humanitarian exchanges, highlighting significant prospects for collaboration in culture, art, science, education, and joint events like exhibitions and conferences.
Irakli Kobakhidze also reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to strengthening and expanding its traditionally friendly dialogue and mutually beneficial partnership with Turkmenistan.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the bilateral documents prepared for signing at the meeting would provide new momentum to the Turkmen-Georgian partnership.
Following the talks, several bilateral documents were signed, including:
The Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia for 2025–2026;
The Agreement between the Governments of Turkmenistan and Georgia on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters;
The Agreement between the Governments of Turkmenistan and Georgia on Cooperation in Plant Protection;
The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Sports between the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Sports of Georgia.
