The third Uzbekistan–Belarus Women Entrepreneurs’ Business Forum has opened in Vitebsk as part of an official visit by a delegation led by Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva.
The forum is serving as an important platform to strengthen bilateral ties in education, science, and healthcare.
On the sidelines of the forum, a dedicated session titled “Belarus–Uzbekistan: Prospects for Bilateral Cooperation in Education, Science, and Healthcare” was held. Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Shokhrukh Daliyev, emphasised the government’s efforts to expand opportunities for women, noting that these measures have led to a steady increase in female enrollment.
He also highlighted initiatives to encourage youth entrepreneurship and provide financing for startup projects, stressing their role in shaping an innovative economy.
The forum concluded with the signing of several cooperation agreements between universities of both countries. Among them were memorandums of understanding involving the National University of Uzbekistan, Andijan State University, Fergana Technical University, and Termez State Engineering and Agro-Technology University.
The agreements aim to boost joint research, academic exchange, and international promotion of scientific achievements.
