Women and families filled Lisbon’s streets in the rain to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer care.
Thousands of women braved the rain in Portugal's capital, Lisbon, to support the fight against breast cancer.
Women of all ages, many wearing pink shirts, walked and ran along the city’s main avenue to raise funds. Husbands, boyfriends, and children also joined in solidarity.
Officials said such events are essential to provide free medical care for women with cancer, given the limited government support.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women.
In Portugal, around 9,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, and more than 2,000 women die from the disease.
