Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took a fresh step in strengthening bilateral defence ties at the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 defence exhibition by signing a strategic agreement.
Turkish aerospace firm TAAC and UAE-based CALIDUS signed a strategic agreement to jointly develop the landing gear and subsystems for the B250 aircraft platform.
TAAC is a joint venture between Altınay Defence Technologies and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ).
TAAC General Manager Enis Ata said, “This partnership with CALIDUS marks a strategic move to expand our role in international defence programmes. We are combining our capabilities to increase our global impact through future joint ventures.”
Dr Khalifa Murad Al Blooshi, CEO of Calidus Holding Group, highlighted that the collaboration extends beyond a bilateral agreement.
“This is a strategic launch towards a long-term defence industrial partnership based on joint manufacturing and R&D. It also aims to set an international example in technical integration and knowledge transfer, fostering innovation across the sector.”
The agreement is seen as a concrete outcome of the growing political and economic ties between Türkiye and the UAE, underlining a shift from government-level dialogue to tangible cooperation in the defence industry.
