Jernej Stritih, Chief Technical Advisor of the ECF programme, told AnewZ that the ECF is a programme supporting local communities in the Caucasus, where they try to achieve nature conservation through the work of the villages. What they provide is funding for activities of the villages.
Stritih highlighted that the work of the programme also has a very positive impact on climate, both in terms of removal of carbon from the atmosphere trough the growth of the forests and also by preparing the local communities for climate adaptation.
