Surangel Whipps, President of the Republic of Palau, talked about the specific challenges that the countries in the region of Palau are facing, saying that the pacific islands is where they see the biggest impacts. He said that they now have drought, intense storms and that their homes are not built to handle this.
Whipps highlighted that energy transition having funding for adaptation, mitigation and loss and damage is critical for small island developing states, specially in the Pacific.
