Former President of Slovenia highlights the political importance of COP29

Borut Pahor, former President of Slovenia, emphasised that COP29 is possibly the last summit to inspire enthusiasm and optimism among people.
He pointed to the recent elections in the European Union and the United States, noting that political campaigns in both regions included significant criticism of the green transition.
Pahor further stated that the leadership of Donald Trump and Ursula von der Leyen might adopt a more cautious approach toward making strong commitments for the future.
