At least 10 people have died and another 10 remain missing following a flash flood and landslide in Indonesia’s West Papua province.

The disasters hit Catubouw in the Arfak Mountains district late Friday night. So far, six of the victims have been identified, while others are still unnamed, according to Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), as reported by state news agency Antara.
Yefri Sabaruddin, head of Basarnas’s Manokwari office, said: “On the fifth day of the search and rescue operation, we found one more victim in addition to the nine already evacuated.”
The extreme weather forced rescuers to halt efforts temporarily, but work will continue Thursday to find the 10 people still missing.
In total, 24 people were affected: four survived, 10 have been confirmed dead, and 10 remain unaccounted for.
