Cristiano Ronaldo may be preparing to leave Al Nassr, as a cryptic social media post on Monday night suggested the end of his time with the Saudi Arabian club.
The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar shared a message shortly after the conclusion of the Saudi Pro League season, writing:
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
Accompanied by a photo of himself in an Al Nassr shirt, the post has sparked widespread speculation about his future.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2022 after parting ways with Manchester United and has since been one of the club’s most high-profile figures. His contract ends this summer, and despite previously suggesting he might retire at Al Nassr, his recent message hints otherwise.
Transfer Window and Club World Cup Context
A special transfer window opens from June 1–10 for clubs participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. Al Nassr, however, did not qualify, unlike rivals Al Hilal.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently confirmed there are “discussions” underway about Ronaldo possibly joining the expanded Club World Cup, set to begin on June 14 in the United States — further fueling exit rumors.
Recent Performance
Despite Al Nassr finishing third in the Saudi Pro League and missing out on key regional titles — including a semifinal loss in the Asian Champions League — Ronaldo ended the season as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.
Whether he will stay in Saudi Arabia or pursue one final chapter elsewhere remains unclear. What is certain, however, is that the football world will be watching his next move closely.
