New details have emerged from the closely guarded wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who married on Friday (3 July) in an intimate garden specially constructed inside Madison Square Garden in New York.
The couple have yet to release official photographs from the ceremony, but guests described a lavish celebration that transformed part of the famous arena into a secluded garden.
Their marriage was confirmed by giant billboards outside the venue flashing the message "JUST&T MARRIED!"
Several attendees said the ceremony took place in a small section of the normally cavernous arena, which is better known for hosting basketball and hockey games, concerts and other major events.
Speaking on ABC's Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos described the venue as "this garden inside the Garden."
"It was as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden," he said. "It's hard to imagine that a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal and so intimate."
According to a social media post by Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, in which he later deleted, the ceremony was held in a cordoned-off section of the arena "devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space."
Aron wrote that after romantic instrumental music featuring violins and cello, Kelce entered wearing a white tuxedo, followed by Swift in a white wedding gown with a long veiled train.
Among the many details that captivated fans after the ceremony was speculation over Swift's "something blue." Several entertainment outlets, including People, Page Six and Entertainment Tonight, reported that the blue element was not part of her attire but the lighting of Empire State Building, which was illuminated in blue following the wedding.
The landmark's official social media accounts also shared celebratory posts, fuelling fan theories that the display served as the bride's symbolic "something blue."
Neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed the interpretation.
Swift's representatives confirmed the bride and groom wore custom looks by Christian Dior, though few other official details have been released.
Guests said the couple wrote their own wedding vows and incorporated numerous personal touches throughout the ceremony.
ABC anchor Robin Roberts said the guest list included neighbours and high school friends alongside celebrity guests.
"It was like any wedding that you would attend," Roberts said.
Roberts also confirmed that Stevie Nicks performed during the ceremony, fulfilling weeks of speculation after Swift was recently seen wearing a "Stevie Knicks" shirt that had fuelled online theories about the Fleetwood Mac singer's involvement.
Celebrities seen arriving at or leaving Madison Square Garden included Selena Gomez, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, Paul McCartney, Gracie Abrams, Jason Sudeikis and Hugh Grant.
Media reports said more than 1,000 people were invited to the wedding.
The event remained shrouded in secrecy until after the ceremony.
Joseph Kahn, who has directed several of Swift's music videos, joked about the event's strict no-phone policy, writing on social media, "I haven't been without my phone that long since 1992."
Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly commented on the ceremony, and no official wedding photographs have yet been released.
