The city of Harbin, opened its annual Ice and Snow Festival on Sunday. Visitors enjoy the colorful fireworks, shimmering ice castles, and thrilling super-ice slides.
Many tourists came to see the large ice sculptures and join in various activities, despite the cold weather being -20°C. One of the busiest attractions was the super ice slide, which is over 500 meters long.
This year's festival is themed "Shared Dreams of Ice and Snow, United Hearts in Asia" and features elements from the 9th Asian Winter Games, happening in Harbin from February 7 to February 14.
Harbin Ice and Snow World staff say this festival is the largest ever, using a record-breaking 300,000 cubic meters of ice and snow—the most that has ever been used.
