President Trump's administration has warned Harvard University it may lose federal funds over alleged civil rights violations linked to its treatment of Jewish and Israeli students, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

President Donald Trump's administration has notified Harvard University that it found the institution in violation of federal civil-rights laws concerning the treatment of Jewish and Israeli students, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal published on Monday.

A letter reportedly sent to Harvard President Alan Garber warned that unless the university enacts immediate and sufficient reforms, it could lose access to all federal financial resources. The letter, viewed by the Journal, also stated that Harvard's broader relationship with the federal government could be affected if the university fails to comply.

Reuters has not independently verified the report.

President Trump has stated that his administration aims to reform leading American universities, which he claims have embraced left-leaning ideologies and become hubs of antisemitism.

The Wall Street Journal noted that the administration's findings follow a broader effort to address concerns about antisemitism on U.S. campuses and hold institutions accountable for civil-rights obligations.
