A deadly weekend attack on a hospital in Sudan claimed the lives of more than 40 people, including children and healthcare workers, drawing international condemnation.

More than 40 individuals, including children and medical staff, were killed in a strike on Al Mujlad Hospital in Sudan’s West Kordofan region over the weekend.

The area lies near the front line between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

The World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the attack and urged an end to violence targeting health facilities, though he did not attribute blame.
