Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met King Charles at Windsor Castle on Monday during a short visit to the UK aimed at strengthening defense ties and increasing pressure on Russia.
The visit precedes political talks, including scheduled meetings with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and leaders of both houses of parliament.
Zelenskyy said discussions would focus on reinforcing defense cooperation and agreeing on new measures to intensify pressure on Russia amid ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Following a deadly strike on Kyiv, Zelenskyy emphasized on social media that the talks aim to help “put an end to the strikes.” His spokesman confirmed the visit’s primary objective is to deepen military collaboration.
During the visit, Zelenskyy will also engage with Ukrainian troops undergoing training in the UK, as well as representatives from key policy institutions.
