In an unprecedented visit, Pakistan’s top military leader, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met President Donald Trump at The White House without senior Pakistani civilian officials present.
Trump praised Munir and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for halting last month’s conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
The meeting included discussions on trade, economic development, cryptocurrency, and tensions between Israel and Iran.
While Pakistan credited the U.S. with mediating the ceasefire, India firmly rejected any third-party mediation, stating that direct military talks ended the hostilities.
