World Bank backs Bangladesh with $640M for gas and clean air
The World Bank has approved a $640 million loan to Bangladesh to help improve gas supply security and reduce dangerous air pollution in urban areas.
The "Treaty of Eternal Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship, and Cooperation," was signed at the second China-Central Asia Summit held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan between China and five Central Asian countries establishing a new legal foundation for strategic partnership.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that this agreement would ensure long-term and stable cooperation among the parties. He highlighted the introduction of the “China-Central Asia Spirit” as one of the key outcomes of the summit. This spirit is based on mutual trust, respect, benefit, and assistance, and has received unanimous support from all participating countries.
More than a 100 cooperation documents were signed. The initiatives cover culture, education, regional partnership, and tourism, strengthening new ties.
Additionally, more than a 100 sister-city agreements were reached between China and Central Asia, marking the successful realization of an initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping three years ago.
Political analysts note that the summit’s outcomes hold strategic importance for regional stability and sustainable development.
