The IAEA has confirmed there was no increase in radiation levels at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility following Israeli strikes, easing immediate fears of a nuclear incident.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on Friday that it had not detected any rise in radiation levels at Iran’s Natanz nuclear site following reported Israeli strikes. The agency also confirmed that Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant was not targeted.

"Iranian authorities have informed the IAEA that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has not been targeted and that no increase in radiation levels has been observed at the Natanz site," IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in a statement posted on X.

Grossi added that the IAEA remains in close contact with both Iranian authorities and its on-ground inspectors to monitor the situation and verify radiation levels at the affected sites.

The Natanz facility is a key site in Iran’s uranium enrichment program and has been the focus of international concern in the past.
