Azerbaijan is set to host the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games from September 28 to October 8, bringing together athletes and officials from CIS nations and guest countries for a major multi-sport event.
According to Baku City Circuit, the Games will see 246 sets of medals contested across 23 sports disciplines, with swimming offering the highest number at 40 medal sets. In addition to individual competitions, MVPs and champions will be recognized in team sports such as football, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, and chovgan.
Events will be staged across seven cities—Mingachevir, Ganja, Gabala, Sheki, Goygol, Yevlakh, and Khankendi—utilizing 12 dedicated sports venues.
The Games aim to foster regional sporting ties and cooperation among CIS member states while showcasing Azerbaijan’s sporting infrastructure and regional diversity.
